Common questions

Is Sanad a substitute for a scholar?

No. Sanad surfaces ʿilm — knowledge with chains — not fatwā. For binding rulings on your specific situation, consult a qualified scholar or a local imam who knows your context.

Why does my question sometimes get refused?

Sanad declines on questions outside the Sunni tradition's scope (e.g. requesting a fatwā, mocking content, or matters strictly belonging to a living scholar). We surface the reason on-screen and try to point you somewhere useful.

Why does the app need my location?

Only to compute prayer times and qibla bearing on-device. Your location is never transmitted off the device.

Does my journal sync between devices?

Not yet. For v0.1, the journal lives only on the device you saved it from. iCloud sync is planned for a future release.

Why do I see a generic notification body sometimes?

If you enabled daily reflections before the first time you opened the app fully, the schedule starts with a generic prompt. The next time you open Sanad, the schedule upgrades to today's actual verse text.

How do I cancel my Sanad Pro subscription?

Sanad Pro is managed by Apple, not by us. Open the Settings app on your iPhone → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Sanad → Cancel. We don't keep your card on file and we can't see your subscription state.

Our promise

Sanad is built to serve, not to extract. We won't sell your data, we won't show you ads, and we'll always tell you where every answer comes from.
